about

At the top of scene 5, we hear the first strains of Valuable Experience over a quartet of dancers. This music, and variations of it, become a recurring theme throughout the play. It returns at the end of scene 7, when the whole cast joined in one of their recurring dance phrases, and continues under scene 8. This variation of the song plays under the beginning of scene 17, a calm yet climactic moment for many of the characters, before giving way to track 2 (SFLRE Study no. 5). This theme returns for scene 18 with lostbooks' final soliloquy that is the only text from the show on this album. The speech is performed here by the actor who originated the role, Kimberly Gilbert. This music is the last sound to be played before the final blackout.
